Mental stress is huge when it comes to your health. We have managed to weave so much significance into our lives, and so much of it can have a stranglehold on our health today and in the future. Sometimes, this comes from your boss; if so, I recommend firing him. You might want to really look at this concept. If indeed you are working under unnecessary duress, your health now and in the future may depend on taking action, as scary as it may seem.

This may seem extreme, so what I recommend doing is writing down on a piece of paper two columns. Title the paper “In Five Years” or something like that. Write down in one column where you think you will be in five years if you stay employed where you are. In the other column, why not dream a little; write down what you would love to see happen in your life. What would be your ideal situation? After all, it is your life and you really can make it what you wish. Continue to write down thoughts for each of the two columns until you feel ready to make a decision. If you decide its time to move on, then start to think about what you would really like to do with your life.
